What makes chenille patches different from embroidered or woven patches?
Chenille patches use yarn loops that create a soft, plush, carpet-like 3D feel, making them famously retro and tactile. Embroidered and woven patches use flat, thin thread stitching. Chenille is ideal for large, bold designs like letterman letters, while embroidery/woven is better suited for tiny, detailed text.
Can complex, small details be made with chenille yarn?
Because chenille yarn is thick and fuzzy, very small details or text under 8mm cannot be looped clearly. For complex logos, we produce Chenille + Embroidery Hybrid Patches, using soft chenille for the main body and fine embroidery thread for small details and lettering.
What is the best way to attach chenille patches to jackets?
While iron-on backing is available, sewing is strongly recommended for chenille patches. Because chenille patches are thicker and heavier than standard patches, stitching along the felt border ensures long-lasting durability on heavy jackets, wool coats, and hoodies.
