What is the difference between genuine leather and PU leather patches?
Genuine leather naturally varies in grain and shade, giving every patch individual character. PU leather has a more uniform surface, which is useful when strict appearance consistency is required across large production runs.
Are leather patches washable?
Washability depends on the leather, logo process, adhesive, garment and washing conditions. Genuine leather patches generally require gentler care, while selected PU leather constructions may offer better wash consistency after testing.
Can leather patches go in a dryer?
High heat may cause leather deformation, shrinkage, discoloration or adhesive failure. Drying conditions should be tested on the finished garment before publishing care instructions.
Should I choose sew-on or iron-on backing?
Sew-on attachment usually provides the most secure long-term result. Heat-activated backing is convenient, but compatibility with the leather and garment fabric must be tested before bulk application.
What heat-press settings should be used?
Temperature, pressure and time depend on the adhesive, patch construction and base fabric. We provide recommended starting conditions based on the approved materials, but buyers should conduct a garment test before production application.
Is adhesive backing permanent?
Pressure-sensitive adhesive is generally used for temporary placement or selected non-wash applications. It should not automatically be treated as a permanent replacement for sewing.
Can you add pre-punched sewing holes?
Yes. Stitch holes or a clear sewing channel can be added around the patch border to simplify installation and improve stitch consistency.
Can you reproduce very small text?
Laser engraving and printing can reproduce finer details than embossing or debossing. Minimum text and line sizes depend on the leather texture, logo process and final patch dimensions.
Can the patch be cut into our logo shape?
Yes. We can produce custom die-cut or laser-cut outlines based on your original artwork. Narrow points and fragile sections may need slight adjustment.
Can you add a custom metal logo to the patch?
